Our story starts over 40 years ago with a father who loved to cook and had a dream of owning his own restaurant. That dream was realized in 1981 when he opened what would soon be the first of many seafood restaurants called Captain's Galley in the small town of Stony Point, NC. The Captain's Galley franchise grew from one restaurant to 25 and was known for it's great seafood. In 2007 Andreas Kazakos was looking for a new adventure. He decided on a breakfast restaurant and in 2008 he started the first Breakfastime. Although, it was a small store that only served breakfast food at the time, the store had a cult-like following and regulars that enjoyed the food and family atmosphere. This first store was located at 3450 Old Salisbury Rd and is still there 12 years later serving guests great food.
Growing up, our owner, Alex loved being in the kitchen with his father. That passion continued into his adult life as he watched his father run multiple restaurants. He decided to go to culinary school at Johnson and Wales and graduated with a bachelor's degree in culinary arts. In 2010 he took over the family business and went to work. The restaurant was rebranded which included not only a new logo, but a complete facelift. Each and every décor piece to be hung on the walls was hand-picked to fit the new rustic antique farmhouse look. This is a tradition continued to this day with every store opened. It ensures every restaurant has that same personal touch.
In 2014 we held the grand opening of our second location in Concord. With a fresh new menu, food made from scratch, and hand-picked staff the business skyrocketed and 14 months later we had successfully opened 3 more locations in Salisbury, Concord, and Clemmons. In 2019 we opened our newest location on Hanes Mall Blvd. We take pride in every ingredient, every dish, in every restaurant and that is what makes us successful.
